This Summer at the Disneyland Resort
After an off-season of walls, mazes and closures, the final results are almost ready to be unveiled at the Disneyland Resort. Friday February 25th, Disneyland Resort Newsroom finally announced their opening dates for the 2011 summer season, putting to bed all the rumor mill dates that have been buzzing around for months now. This summer line up will certainly launch the Disneyland Resort into the number one spot for vacation destination of the year. These dates will be on every ones minds when planning their vacations.
May 27th Premiere: “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” will melodically make its debut this Memorial Day Weekend. Main Street will come alive with this new parade featuring an explosive musical score orchestrated by The Master of Ceremonies himself, Mickey Mouse. The theme of the new parade is a festival and celebration for all to appreciate and participate. Mickey and all our favorite Disney characters will be showcased in visually stimulating floats adorned in the most vibrant and elaborate colors and scenes. This soundsational ensemble of percussion and dance, promises to get your foot stomping while being immersed into a magical festival of wonderment.
June 3rd Opening in Disney California Adventure Park: Finally we get to be, “part of her world”. After months and months of watching the old Golden Dreams building get demolished then rebuilt, the progression has given way to an under the sea attraction that many of us have been looking forward to. Forget about up where we walk and run, we are ready to dive in and be immersed into Ariel’s world. Guests will get to travel through the Mer-World in colorful seashells, through scenes varying from Ariel’s treasure trove, her journey to love, undersea celebration and Ursula’s lair. If you can’t wait to see what this fabulous new attraction has in store, peruse the Blue Sky Cellar website for a very generous preview of the whole ride, http://bit.ly/hRaKKt
June 3rd Opening in Disneyland: Time to recharge your light sabers and polish up your Jedi techniques. The force is being unleashed in a newer, updated Star Tours adventure. At last our Starspeeders will offer multiple destinations and we can only cross our fingers in hopes that we will actually make it to our desired travels. Unlike the many failed attempts to make it to Endor, this new version offers us a new pilot who may or may not do a better job than our deeply missed Captain RX-24, aka Rex. The cast line-up in this updated attraction will definitely have Warsies in a constant state of swooning. Not only will intergalactic travelers be tousled around in this motion-simulated attraction but we will also have the opportunity to truly be enveloped into the force via 3D technology. This opening will not only be on the calendars for Disney lovers but expect a huge turn out of Star Wars fans as this will be donned “Star Wars Weekend” in the park.
Spring 2011: Disneyland Hotel has been receiving some refurb treatment and updates this last year. Some results of all this work will be unveiled this spring starting with the re-themed Disneyland Hotel, which will become a gateway to a more nostalgic and historical appreciation of Disneyland Park circa 1950s. Guests will have access to such gradual additions like the new Tangaroa Terrace restaurant and Trader Sams tiki-inspired Restaurant and bar. These two venues will both tie in and foreshadow the overall theme of the newly refurbished Dream Tower of Disneyland Hotel, soon to be renamed The Adventure Tower.
With so many new and exciting openings in the park this summer, we can definitely count on high park attendance. The wait times will be high and the crowds will be unreal but all will be worth enduring to experience the new magical additions Disneyland Resort has to offer.
