Early Xmas at Disneyland Resort 11/03/11

This weeks TPS In Park Update theme is, "Early Holiday decor in the Resort".
Only a few days after the conclusion of Halloween, Disney spared no time stripping away the fall decor and adding some Christmas Holiday touches throughout the resort.
Down Town Disney is flying the Mickey and Minnie Holiday banners throughout the District. Some stores have window and outside advertisements for upcoming holiday sales and discount events. World Of Disney has a rather large Holiday section next to the mens apparel which includes ornaments, clothing and tasty goodies.
Today Disneyland Park was all a buzz with Cast members and Workers setting up and supervising staging areas for the upcoming Disneyland Christmas Day Parade filming. There is a small stage/platform set up where the Mickey pumpkin display once stood only a few days ago. Main Street stores are fully stocked with this years line of holiday merchandise to include the Ginger Bread Mickey Ears we showed you last weekend. There are some small holiday touches on the Main Street buildings but nothing too obvious. The Holiday lights have not
been put up yet nor have the over hanging, light up wreaths. The largest set for filming is in front of the Castle where one circular shaped stage stands and two large LED type monitors are placed on each side. Although the Castle Towers have had snow atop them since last week, there are now some ornaments, a little lighting and the Christmas Wreath over the Draw Bridge entrance. Still no icicles but I'm sure they are saving the big guns for the Holiday in The Park Unveiling.
Adventure and Frontier land's are regular but New Orleans Square got some Holiday love up now. For you Photogs, yes the stairway in the Court of Angels is already decked out in garland, ornaments and lights. Small World may be on hiatus getting its Holiday makeover but the clock face already has his Santa hat on, which sparked my anxiousness for holidays even more so. For me, aside from the icicle and castle makeover, nothing makes holidays in the park more official than Its A Small World Holiday. Toon Town is already all decked out for the holidays and Tomorrow Land only has a dash of spirit located in the Tomorrow Landing Store, where you can now find some holiday merchandise.
California Adventure surprisingly had a few Holiday touches. Wreaths are hanging on the walls leading you from the entrance to the inside of the park. Paradise Plaza has a couple of ornamental displays. Duffy's Photo area now features a huge snow globe displayed for holiday picture opportunities. There is a small kiosk with Christmas merch for sale on the corner of Tron entrance and Hollywood Backlot. Strangest place to have this kiosk considering this area has absolutely no holiday decor what so ever. I believe aside from the regular Fliks Fun Faire decorations, what we saw today is about it for holiday makeover in DCA due mostly to the construction.
Next weeks TPS In Park Update should have a few more little holiday touches included as well as some photos that will be great as desktop backgrounds. The Christmas Day Parade will be filmed in pieces starting today but the full parade with concert will be filmed on Saturday. We are currently confirming more filming and attendee information and will have that for you all shortly. REMEMBER to mark your calendars for the official Holidays in the Park launch on 11/14/2011! We will have a special In Park Update and full pictorial for you guys that day!!! HAPPY EARLY DISNEY HOLIDAYS TPSers!!!
